Posted on March 7, 2025 by admin

Here’s a simple and delicious Stir-Fried Shrimp and Broccoli recipe:

Ingredients:

  • Shrimp: 1 lb (peeled and deveined)
  • Broccoli: 2 cups (cut into florets)
  • Garlic: 3 cloves (minced)
  • Ginger: 1 tablespoon (grated)
  • Soy Sauce: 3 tablespoons (low-sodium preferred)
  • Oyster Sauce: 1 tablespoon (optional, for more depth of flavor)
  • Sesame Oil: 1 teaspoon
  • Vegetable Oil: 2 tablespoons (for stir-frying)
  • Cornstarch: 1 teaspoon (optional, for thickening sauce)
  • Water: 1/4 cup (to create sauce)
  • Red Pepper Flakes: 1/2 teaspoon (optional, for heat)
  • Salt and Pepper: To taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Shrimp:

    • If your shrimp are frozen, thaw them first. Pat them dry with paper towels.
    • Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  2. Prepare the Broccoli:

    • Steam the broccoli florets for 2-3 minutes, or until they are bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.
  3. Make the Sauce:

    • In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), sesame oil, cornstarch, and water. Stir well until the cornstarch is dissolved and the sauce is smooth.
  4. Stir-Fry the Shrimp:

    • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
    • Add the shrimp and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the pan and set aside.
  5. Stir-Fry the Broccoli:

    • In the same pan, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
    • Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir-fry for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
  6. Combine Shrimp and Broccoli:

    • Add the broccoli and cooked shrimp back into the pan.
    • Pour the sauce over the shrimp and broccoli, stirring to coat evenly.
    • Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and everything to heat through.
  7. Serve:

    • Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper if necessary.
    • Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.

Tips:

  • You can add other veggies like bell peppers, carrots, or snap peas for more color and flavor.
  • For a sweeter version, add a tablespoon of honey or brown sugar to the sauce.
  • If you don’t have oyster sauce, you can substitute with hoisin sauce or just use extra soy sauce for a more savory flavor.

Enjoy your stir-fried shrimp and broccoli!
