Slow cooker barbecued beef is a fantastic dish that results in tender, flavorful meat that’s perfect for sandwiches, tacos, or served over rice. Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for you to enjoy:

Ingredients:

  • 3 pounds beef chuck roast, trimmed of excess fat
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup your favorite barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Season the beef chuck roast generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Place the seasoned roast in the slow cooker and top with the chopped onion and minced garlic.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the beef broth, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, cumin, and chili powder.
  4. Pour the sauce mixture over the beef in the slow cooker.
  5. Cover and cook on low heat for 7-8 hours, or until the beef is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
  6. Once the beef is cooked, remove it from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
  7. Return the shredded beef to the slow cooker and stir it into the sauce.
  8. Let it cook for an additional 15-30 minutes on the low setting to allow the flavors to meld.
  9. Adjust the seasoning if necessary.
  10. Serve the barbecued beef on toasted buns, tortillas, or over rice, and garnish with coleslaw, pickles, or your favorite toppings.
