Pioneer Woman Sausage Gravy

Posted on January 13, 2024

Sure, here’s a simple recipe for Pioneer Woman-style sausage gravy:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground breakfast sausage
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Biscuits, for serving

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground breakfast sausage over medium-high heat, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Cook until the sausage is browned and cooked through.
  2. Sprinkle the flour over the cooked sausage and stir well to combine. Continue to cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the flour to cook and get rid of the raw taste.
  3. Gradually pour in the milk while stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Continue to cook and stir until the mixture thickens. This may take about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Season the gravy with salt and black pepper according to your taste. Keep in mind that the sausage can be quite flavorful, so start with a little salt and pepper and adjust as needed.
  5. Once the gravy has reached your desired thickness, remove the skillet from the heat.
  6. Serve the sausage gravy over warm biscuits. You can split the biscuits and ladle the gravy over the top.

Enjoy your homemade Pioneer Woman-style sausage gravy!
