Peanut Butter Cookies

Peanut butter cookies are a classic and delightful treat. Here’s a simple recipe for you to try:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until well combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Scoop out dough using a cookie scoop or tablespoon and roll it into balls. Place the balls on the prepared baking sheets, leaving some space between each.
  7. Using a fork, make a crisscross pattern on the top of each cookie by gently pressing down.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Keep an eye on them to avoid over-baking.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
