Lobster Tails with Garlic Herb Butter Sauce

Posted on November 28, 2024

Here’s a delicious recipe for Lobster Tails with Garlic Herb Butter Sauce that you can easily prepare at home:

Ingredients:

  • 4 lobster tails (about 6 oz each)
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp paprika (optional for color and mild flavor)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Lobster Tails:
    • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
    • Using kitchen shears or a sharp knife, cut down the top of each lobster tail’s shell lengthwise, starting from the wide end toward the tail. Be careful not to cut through the meat. Pull apart the shell gently to expose the lobster meat.
    • Optional: You can also remove the lobster’s vein (digestive tract) if visible.
    • Place the lobster tails on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or lightly greased.
  2. Make the Garlic Herb Butter Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, chopped parsley, thyme (if using), paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
    • Spoon about 1-2 tablespoons of the garlic herb butter mixture over each lobster tail, ensuring the meat is generously coated.
  3. Bake the Lobster Tails:
    • Place the lobster tails in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the lobster meat is opaque and cooked through. The meat should be firm to the touch, and the internal temperature should reach 140°F (60°C).
    • Halfway through baking, baste the lobster tails with the remaining garlic butter sauce to ensure maximum flavor.
  4. Serve:
    • Remove the lobster tails from the oven and garnish with extra chopped parsley if desired.
    • Serve with lemon wedges on the side and enjoy!

Tips:

  • Broiling Option: You can also broil the lobster tails for a few minutes for a slightly crispy top. If broiling, keep an eye on them to avoid overcooking.
  • Side Suggestions: These lobster tails pair wonderfully with a side of garlic mashed potatoes, grilled vegetables, or a fresh salad.

Enjoy your lobster tails with this rich, flavorful garlic herb butter sauce!
