Sure, I can provide you with a delicious recipe for Glazed Ham with Cabbage Casserole. This dish combines the savory flavors of glazed ham with the comforting texture of cabbage in a casserole. Here’s a simple recipe for you:

Ingredients:

For the Glazed Ham:

  • 1 (6-8 pounds) bone-in ham
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves

For the Cabbage Casserole:

  • 1 large head of cabbage, shredded
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)

Instructions:

1. Preparing the Glazed Ham:

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  • Place the ham in a roasting pan.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, and ground cloves to create the glaze.
  • Brush the ham generously with the glaze, making sure to coat it evenly.
  • Cover the ham with foil and bake for about 15-20 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C).

2. Making the Cabbage Casserole:

  • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sauté until softened.
  • Add the shredded cabbage to the skillet and cook until wilted, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Stir well to combine.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cabbage is tender.
  • Stir in the shredded Gruyere cheese until melted and well combined.

3. Assembling the Casserole:

  • Transfer the cooked cabbage mixture to a baking dish.
  • Place the glazed ham on top of the cabbage in the baking dish.
  • If desired, sprinkle breadcrumbs over the top of the cabbage for a crunchy topping.
  • Bake the casserole in the oven at 350°F (177°C) for about 20-25 minutes or until heated through and the top is golden brown.

4. Serving:

  • Slice the glazed ham and serve it on top of the cabbage casserole.

Enjoy your Glazed Ham with Cabbage Casserole!
