Garlic shrimp is a simple, flavorful dish that’s packed with savory goodness. Here’s a quick recipe for you to try:

Garlic Shrimp Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup white wine (or chicken broth for a non-alcoholic option)
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prep the shrimp: Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This helps them sear properly.

  2. Cook the garlic: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent it from burning. You want the garlic to be fragrant.

  3. Sauté the shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, until they turn pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook them, as shrimp cook very quickly.

  4. Add the liquid: Pour in the white wine (or chicken broth) and lemon juice, scraping up any bits stuck to the bottom of the pan. Let it cook for another 2 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken slightly.

  5. Season: Sprinkle in red pepper flakes (if using), and season with salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Serve: Remove the skillet from the heat. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately.
