Chicken and Green Bean Stir Fry

Chicken and green bean stir fry is a delicious and quick dish that you can prepare for a tasty meal. Here’s a simple recipe for you to try:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 1 lb (450g) fresh green beans, washed and trimmed
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for cooking)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish (optional)
  • Cooked rice for serving

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the Chicken:
    • In a bowl, mix the sliced chicken with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce. Let it marinate for at least 15-20 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, combine the remaining 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil. Set aside.
  3. Blanch the Green Beans:
    • Bring a pot of water to boil. Add the green beans and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until they are bright green and slightly tender. Drain and set aside.
  4. Stir-Fry:
    • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Add the marinated chicken and stir-fry until cooked through and slightly browned. Remove the chicken from the wok and set it aside.
  5. Cook the Green Beans:
    • In the same wok, add another tablespoon of oil if needed. Add minced garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
    • Add the blanched green beans and continue to stir-fry for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Combine and Sauce:
    • Return the cooked chicken to the wok with the green beans. Pour the sauce over the chicken and green beans. Toss everything together to coat evenly.
  7. Optional Thickening:
    • If you prefer a thicker sauce, you can mix a teaspoon of cornstarch with a little water to create a slurry. Add this to the wok and stir well to thicken the sauce.
  8. Season and Garnish:
    • Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.
  9. Serve:
    • Serve the chicken and green bean stir fry over cooked rice.
