Rotel Cream Cheese Sausage Balls

Posted on August 31, 2024

Here’s a simple recipe for Rotel Cream Cheese Sausage Balls:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground sausage (mild or spicy, depending on your preference)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 can (10 oz) Rotel (diced tomatoes and green chilies), drained
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 ½ cups Bisquick or any baking mix
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground sausage, softened cream cheese, drained Rotel, shredded cheddar cheese, Bisquick, and optional seasonings. Mix until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  3. Form Balls: Using your hands, form the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  4. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the sausage balls are golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and allow the sausage balls to cool slightly before serving.

Tips:

  • Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can reheat them in the microwave or oven.
  • Freezing: These sausage balls freeze well. Just shape and freeze them on a baking sheet, then transfer to a freezer bag once frozen. Bake from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time.

Enjoy these delicious and savory sausage balls as a snack, appetizer, or breakfast treat!
