Certainly! Here is a delightful recipe for a Fruit Tart with Apples and Blackberries, a perfect blend of sweet and tart flavors in a buttery crust. This delicious dessert is a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds, making it an ideal treat for gatherings or a delightful afternoon indulgence.

Fruit Tart with Apples and Blackberries

Ingredients:

For the Crust:

  1. 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  2. 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  3. 1/4 teaspoon salt
  4. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  5. 1 large egg, lightly beaten

For the Filling:

  1. 2 medium-sized apples, thinly sliced
  2. 1 cup fresh blackberries
  3. 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  4. 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  5. 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  6. 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  7. 1 tablespoon lemon juice

For the Glaze:

  1. 1/4 cup apricot preserves or apple jelly
  2. 1 tablespoon water

Instructions:

Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a food processor, pulse together the flour, sugar, and salt. Add the cold, cubed butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Gradually add the beaten egg and continue to pulse until the dough comes together. Shape the dough into a disk, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate it for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to fit a 9-inch tart pan. Press the dough into the pan, trim any excess, and prick the bottom with a fork.
  4. Blind bake the crust for 15-20 minutes, or until it turns golden brown. Let it cool while you prepare the filling.

Make the Filling:

  1. In a bowl, gently toss together the thinly sliced apples, blackberries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and lemon juice until the fruit is evenly coated.
  2. Arrange the fruit mixture in the cooled tart crust, creating an attractive pattern.

Bake the Tart:

  1. Bake the Fruit Tart in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the fruit is bubbling and the crust is golden brown.
  2. If the edges of the crust start to brown too quickly, cover them with aluminum foil.

Prepare the Glaze:

  1. In a small saucepan, heat the apricot preserves or apple jelly with water over low heat until it becomes smooth and liquid.

Glaze the Tart:

  1. Brush the warm glaze over the fruit in the tart to add a glossy finish.

Serve the Fruit Tart with Apples and Blackberries:

  1. Slice the tart and serve it either at room temperature or slightly warm.
  2. Enjoy this delightful Fruit Tart with Apples and Blackberries as a delightful dessert, accompanied by a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream, for a truly indulgent treat.
