Banana split cake is a delightful and indulgent dessert that captures the flavors of a classic banana split. Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for you to enjoy:

Ingredients:

For the crust:

  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

For the filling:

  • 2 large bananas, sliced
  • 1 can (20 ounces) crushed pineapple, drained
  • 2 cups whipped cream or whipped topping
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar

For the toppings:

  • Chocolate syrup
  • Maraschino cherries
  • Chopped nuts
  • Sprinkles

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter until the mixture resembles wet sand.
  2. Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish to form the crust layer.
  3. Arrange the sliced bananas evenly over the crust, followed by an even layer of crushed pineapple.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat together the whipped cream or whipped topping, softened cream cheese, and confectioners’ sugar until smooth and creamy.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the fruit layers in the baking dish, creating an even and smooth layer.
  6. Drizzle chocolate syrup over the top of the cream cheese layer, and garnish with maraschino cherries, chopped nuts, and sprinkles.
  7. Refrigerate the banana split cake for at least 2-3 hours before serving to allow the layers to set and the flavors to meld.
