Ingredients:

  • 1 head of cabbage
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare the Cabbage:
    • Remove any loose outer leaves from the cabbage.
    • Cut the cabbage into 1-inch thick slices, creating “steaks.” Make sure to keep the core intact to hold the slices together.
  3. Season the Cabbage:
    • Place the cabbage steaks on a baking sheet.
    • Brush both sides of the cabbage steaks with olive oil.
    • Sprinkle salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings over the cabbage steaks. You can get creative with the seasonings based on your preferences.
  4. Bake:
    • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven.
    • Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until the edges of the cabbage steaks are golden brown, and the cabbage is tender.
  5. Serve:
    • Once baked, you can serve the cabbage steaks as a side dish alongside your favorite protein or as a standalone dish.
  6. Optional Additions:
    • You can enhance the flavor by adding grated Parmesan or your favorite cheese during the last few minutes of baking.
