Here’s a fun and sweet Cotton Candy Popcorn recipe — perfect for parties, movie nights, or just a playful snack!

Cotton Candy Popcorn

Ingredients:

  • 10 cups plain popped popcorn (about 1/2 cup unpopped kernels)

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp cotton candy flavoring (LorAnn Oils or similar)

  • Food coloring (pink, blue, or both)

  • Optional: sprinkles or crushed cotton candy for topping

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

  2. Pop the popcorn and place it in a large mixing bowl. Make sure to remove any unpopped kernels.

  3. In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.

  4. Once boiling, stop stirring and let it cook for about 4–5 minutes until it reaches the soft-ball stage (235–240°F on a candy thermometer).

  5. Remove from heat. Quickly stir in the cotton candy flavoring and a few drops of your chosen food coloring.

  6. Immediately pour the syrup over the popcorn and toss gently with a spatula until well coated.

  7. Spread popcorn onto the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.

  8. Bake for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes to help dry and crisp it up.

  9. Let cool completely before breaking apart and serving. Optionally, sprinkle with edible glitter or candy bits!
