Texas Trash Dip is a creamy, savory, and cheesy dip that’s perfect for parties or gatherings. It combines a variety of ingredients that give it a flavorful kick, often with a bit of spice. Here’s a popular version of the recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (16 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (or 1/2 cup homemade ranch seasoning)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 can (4 oz) diced green chilies (optional for some heat)
  • 1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (about 6 slices)
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes (or 1 can diced tomatoes, drained)
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives (optional)
  • Jalapeños (optional, for extra heat)
  • Tortilla chips, crackers, or veggies (for dipping)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Creamy Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Use a hand mixer or whisk to blend it until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add Seasoning: Mix in the ranch seasoning until fully combined.
  3. Add Cheese and Veggies: Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, green onions, diced green chilies (if using), and any other veggies like diced tomatoes or olives.
  4. Bacon: Gently fold in the crumbled bacon for that perfect savory crunch.
  5. Chill: Cover the dip with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least an hour to let the flavors blend and the dip chill.
  6. Serve: Serve with tortilla chips, crackers, or raw veggies.

Optional Variations:

  • Add jalapeños for more heat.
  • For a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream and mayo.
  • You can also top it with more bacon or cheese right before serving!
