Sugar Cream Pie

Sure, here’s a simple recipe for a classic Sugar Cream Pie:

Ingredients:

  • 1 unbaked pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ground nutmeg (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Place the unbaked pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and crimp the edges as desired. Set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, flour, and salt until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the heavy cream to the sugar mixture, whisking continuously until smooth.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust.
  7. If desired, sprinkle a little ground nutmeg on top of the pie for flavor.
  8. Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes.
  9. After 10 minutes, reduce the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for an additional 45-50 minutes, or until the pie is set and the crust is golden brown.
  10. Once baked, remove the pie from the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
  11. For best results, refrigerate the pie for a few hours before serving to allow it to set further.
