Ingredients:

For the Cheesecake Layer:

  • 2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 container (8 ounces) whipped topping, thawed

For the Strawberry Layer:

  • 2 pounds fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

For the Cake Layer:

  • 1 pound cake or angel food cake, cut into cubes

For Garnish (Optional):

  • Additional whipped topping
  • Fresh strawberries
  • Mint leaves

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Cheesecake Layer:
    • In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
    • Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and beat until well combined.
    • Gently fold in the whipped topping until fully incorporated. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the Strawberry Layer:
    • In a medium bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice.
    • Stir until the strawberries are well coated and let them macerate for at least 15 minutes to release their juices.
  3. Assemble the Trifle:
    • In a large trifle dish or glass bowl, start by adding a layer of the cubed pound cake.
    • Spoon a layer of the cheesecake mixture over the cake cubes.
    • Add a layer of the macerated strawberries with their juice.
    • Repeat these layers until you reach the top of the dish, finishing with a layer of strawberries.
  4. Garnish (Optional):
    • Add a dollop of whipped topping on top.
    • Decorate with additional fresh strawberries and mint leaves if desired.
  5. Chill and Serve:
    • Cover the trifle with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld.
