Here’s a simple recipe for spicy chicken livers with mushrooms:
Ingredients:
- 500g chicken livers, cleaned and trimmed
- 200g mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust according to your spice preference)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until softened and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they begin to brown, stirring occasionally, about 5-7 minutes.
- Push the mushrooms to the side of the skillet and add the cleaned chicken livers to the pan. Cook the chicken livers for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are browned on the outside but still slightly pink on the inside.
- Sprinkle paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper over the chicken livers and mushrooms. Stir everything together to ensure the spices are evenly distributed.
- Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the chicken livers are cooked through and no longer pink in the center.
- Once cooked, remove the skillet from the heat and garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
- Serve the spicy chicken livers with mushrooms hot, either on their own or with your choice of side dish, such as rice or crusty bread.
