Spaghetti with Pepper Cream, Chorizo & Shrimp

Ingredients:

  • 300g spaghetti

  • 200g raw shrimp (peeled and deveined)

  • 100g chorizo (sliced or chopped)

  • 1 red bell pepper (thinly sliced)

  • 1 yellow bell pepper (thinly sliced)

  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)

  • 200ml heavy cream

  • 50g grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

  • Chili flakes (optional, for heat)


Instructions:

  1. Cook the spaghetti in salted boiling water according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  2. Sauté the chorizo in a large pan over medium heat until it starts to release oil and crisp up slightly (about 4–5 minutes). Remove and set aside.

  3. In the same pan, add olive oil if needed, then sauté the shrimp until pink and cooked through (about 2–3 minutes per side). Remove and set aside.

  4. Add onion, garlic, and bell peppers to the pan. Sauté until soft (about 5–7 minutes).

  5. Pour in the cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Add the Parmesan cheese if using, and season with salt, pepper, and chili flakes if desired.

  6. Return the chorizo and shrimp to the pan. Stir to combine.

  7. Add the cooked spaghetti, tossing everything together until well coated.

  8. Garnish with fresh parsley, and serve hot.
