Sour Cream Apple Pie Deluxe

Here’s a delightful recipe for Sour Cream Apple Pie Deluxe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/2 cups peeled and thinly sliced apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place the unbaked pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and flute the edges. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sour cream, granulated sugar, flour, vanilla extract, salt, and egg. Beat until smooth.
  4. Gently fold in the sliced apples until they are evenly coated with the sour cream mixture.
  5. Pour the apple mixture into the prepared pie crust, spreading it out evenly.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, chopped nuts (if using), and cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the apple filling.
  7. Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes.
  8. After 15 minutes, reduce the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for an additional 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.
  9. Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack before serving.
  10. Serve slices of this delicious Sour Cream Apple Pie Deluxe on its own or with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra special treat!
