Slow Cooker Chili Recipe

Certainly! Here’s a simple and delicious slow cooker chili recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) ground beef (you can also use ground turkey or chicken)
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup (240ml) beef broth or chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, diced avocado, chopped cilantro, sliced jalapeƱos

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add diced onion, minced garlic, and diced bell pepper to the skillet with the ground beef. Cook for 2-3 minutes until vegetables are softened.
  3. Transfer the cooked beef and vegetables to the slow cooker.
  4. Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, kidney beans, black beans, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper to the slow cooker. Stir to combine all ingredients.
  5. Cover and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours or high heat for 3-4 hours, until flavors are well blended and chili has thickened to your desired consistency.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  7. Serve hot, topped with your favorite toppings like shredded cheese, sour cream, diced avocado, chopped cilantro, or sliced jalapeƱos.
