Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for a Savory Crescent Roll Bake. This dish is great for breakfast, brunch, or a cozy dinner!

Savory Crescent Roll Bake

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans of crescent roll dough
  • 1 pound of breakfast sausage (or any sausage of your choice)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 cup of shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite)
  • 1/2 cup of diced bell peppers (optional)
  • 1/2 cup of diced onion (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (like parsley or chives) for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked. If using, add diced onions and bell peppers and sauté until softened. Drain excess fat.
  3. Prepare the Crescent Roll Base: Unroll one can of crescent rolls and press the dough into the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Make sure to seal any perforations.
  4. Add the Sausage Mixture: Spread the cooked sausage mixture evenly over the crescent roll base.
  5. Mix the Egg Mixture: In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture over the sausage layer.
  6. Add Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly on top.
  7. Top with Remaining Crescent Rolls: Unroll the second can of crescent rolls and lay them on top of the cheese layer. You can press them down lightly.
  8. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the egg is set.
  9. Serve: Allow to cool slightly before slicing. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

  • Feel free to customize the filling with vegetables like spinach or mushrooms.
  • You can use different types of cheese for varied flavors.
  • This dish can be made ahead and reheated for breakfast or brunch!
