Ingredients:

  • 2 ribeye steaks
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Optional: Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Grill or Pan:
    • If you’re grilling, preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If you’re using a stovetop, heat a cast-iron skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Season the Ribeye Steaks:
    • Pat the ribeye steaks dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
    • Season both sides of the steaks with salt and pepper, to taste.
  3. Cook the Ribeye Steaks:
    • If grilling, place the steaks on the preheated grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust the time based on your preferred doneness.
    • If using a stovetop, add olive oil to the hot skillet. Sear the steaks for 4-5 minutes per side or until your desired level of doneness is reached.
  4. Prepare the Asparagus:
    • While the steaks are cooking, heat a separate skillet over medium heat.
    • Add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
    • Add the trimmed asparagus to the skillet and sauté for 4-5 minutes or until they are tender-crisp.
    • Season the asparagus with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Finish the Dish:
    • Once the steaks are done, remove them from the grill or skillet and let them rest for a few minutes.
    • Add a tablespoon of butter to the asparagus, allowing it to melt and coat the asparagus.
  6. Serve:
    • Plate the ribeye steaks and asparagus together.
    • Optionally, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the dish for a burst of citrus flavor.
