Here’s a simple and delicious quick bread recipe that you can easily make at home. This recipe is for a classic banana bread, but you can customize it with your favorite add-ins like nuts or chocolate chips.

Classic Banana Bread

Ingredients:

  • 2 to 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar (can reduce to 1/2 cup if you prefer less sweet)
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Optional Add-ins:

  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans work well)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
  2. Prepare the Bananas: In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
  3. Mix the Dry Ingredients: Mix in the baking soda and salt. Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Mix in the flour.
  4. Add Optional Ingredients: If you’re adding nuts or chocolate chips, gently fold them into the batter.
  5. Pour into Pan: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  6. Bake: Bake for 60 to 65 minutes (check at 55 minutes) until a tester inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool: Remove from oven and let cool in the pan for a few minutes. Then remove the banana bread from the pan and let it cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.

Enjoy your homemade banana bread!
