Here’s a simple recipe for making Puff Pastry with Apple Jam:

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup of apple jam (you can use homemade or store-bought apple preserves)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)
  • Cinnamon (optional, to add to the jam for extra flavor)

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Prepare the puff pastry:

  • Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface if it isn’t pre-rolled.
  • Cut the sheet into small squares or rectangles, depending on your preferred size for the pastry.

3. Add the apple jam:

  • Place a small spoonful of apple jam in the center of each pastry piece.
  • If desired, you can sprinkle a little cinnamon over the jam for extra flavor.

4. Seal the pastry:

  • Fold the puff pastry into a triangle or rectangle, depending on the shape you cut. Press the edges gently with a fork to seal them.

5. Egg wash:

  • Beat the egg in a small bowl. Brush the tops of the pastries with the egg wash to give them a golden, shiny finish.

6. Bake:

  • Place the filled pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 15–20 minutes or until the puff pastry is golden brown and crispy.

7. Cool and serve:

  • Let the pastries cool for a few minutes. If desired, dust with powdered sugar for a sweet touch before serving.
