Pudding Without Oven

Posted on April 26, 2024 by admin

Certainly! Here’s a simple recipe for making pudding without using an oven:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: chocolate chips, nuts, or fruit for flavor variations

Instructions:

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium-sized saucepan, whisk together the sugar, cornstarch, and salt until well combined.
  2. Add Milk: Gradually pour in the milk while whisking constantly to avoid any lumps.
  3. Heat Mixture: Place the saucepan over medium heat and continue whisking until the mixture starts to thicken. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Be sure to scrape the bottom and sides of the saucepan to prevent sticking and ensure even thickening.
  4. Simmer: Once the mixture has thickened to a pudding-like consistency, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer gently for an additional 2-3 minutes. Keep stirring to prevent the pudding from burning.
  5. Remove from Heat: Once the pudding has reached the desired consistency, remove the saucepan from the heat.
  6. Add Flavor: Stir in the vanilla extract for flavor. If you’re adding any optional ingredients like chocolate chips, nuts, or fruit, you can mix them in at this stage.
  7. Cool and Serve: Allow the pudding to cool slightly before transferring it to serving dishes or individual cups. You can serve it warm or chill it in the refrigerator for a few hours until it’s completely cold and set.
  8. Garnish and Enjoy: Optionally, you can garnish the pudding with whipped cream, fresh fruit, or a sprinkle of cocoa powder before serving.

Enjoy your homemade pudding!
