Poached Eggs

Here is a simple recipe for poached eggs:

Poached Eggs Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Fresh eggs
  • Water
  • White vinegar (optional, helps the eggs hold their shape)

Instructions:

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer.
  2. If using, add a splash of white vinegar to the water. This can help the eggs hold their shape better during poaching.
  3. Crack an egg into a small cup or ramekin.
  4. Using a spoon, create a gentle whirlpool in the water.
  5. Carefully slide the egg into the center of the whirlpool. The swirling water helps the egg white wrap around the yolk.
  6. Let the egg cook for about 3-4 minutes for a soft yolk, or 5 minutes for a firmer yolk.
  7. Remove the egg with a slotted spoon and place it on a plate lined with a paper towel to absorb any excess water.
  8. If making multiple eggs, repeat the process for each egg.
  9. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Your poached eggs are now ready to be enjoyed. They can be served on their own, on toast, or as a topping for various dishes such as salads, grain bowls, or avocado toast. Enjoy!
