Pizza Hut Dough Recipe

Here’s a basic recipe for Pizza Hut-style pizza dough:

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • 1 1/3 cups warm water (about 110°F)
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer fitted with a dough hook attachment, combine the flour, sugar, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, and basil.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and vegetable oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. If using a stand mixer, knead the dough with the dough hook on medium speed for about 5-7 minutes. If kneading by hand, transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning to coat. Cover with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm, draft-free place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air bubbles and divide it into portions for individual pizzas.
  7. Roll out each portion of dough into the desired pizza crust thickness and shape on a floured surface.
  8. Transfer the shaped dough to a greased pizza pan or baking sheet.
  9. Add your favorite toppings and bake in a preheated oven at 475°F (245°C) for about 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the toppings are cooked to your liking.
