Philly cheese steak crescent ring

Posted on December 27, 2024 by admin
A Philly Cheese Steak Crescent Ring is a fun and delicious twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak. It’s made with crescent roll dough and filled with steak, cheese, and other Philly-style toppings, baked into a ring shape. Here’s a recipe to make it:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans (8 oz each) of crescent roll dough
  • 1 lb of thinly sliced steak (ribeye or sirloin works well)
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 8 oz provolone cheese, sliced (or a mix of provolone and cheddar)
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce (optional, for extra flavor)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions:

  1. Prep the filling:
    • In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, sautéing until soft and slightly caramelized (about 5-7 minutes).
    • Add the thinly sliced steak to the skillet and cook until browned and cooked through. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce, if using. Remove from heat and set aside.
  2. Preheat the oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  3. Assemble the crescent ring:
    • Unroll the crescent roll dough and lay the triangles in a circle on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. The wide edges of the triangles should overlap slightly in the center, leaving a ring shape with the pointy ends facing outward.
    • Place slices of provolone cheese in the center of the dough ring, overlapping slightly. Add the cooked steak and vegetable mixture on top of the cheese.
    • Fold the pointy ends of the dough over the filling and tuck them under the dough in the center to form a ring. Make sure the filling is secure.
  4. Add the egg wash:
    • Beat the egg and brush it over the dough to give it a golden, shiny finish once baked.
  5. Bake:
    • Place the crescent ring in the preheated oven and bake for 18-22 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and fully cooked.
  6. Serve:
    • Allow the Philly Cheese Steak Crescent Ring to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve with extra cheese or dipping sauces like ranch, marinara, or a cheesy dip.

Enjoy your delicious Philly Cheese Steak Crescent Ring! It’s perfect for parties, game days, or a fun family meal.
