🧄 Parmesan Crusted Chicken with Creamy Garlic Sauce

🍗 Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (halved horizontally to make 4 cutlets)

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (Panko or regular)

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 large egg, beaten

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tbsp butter

For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter version)

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Optional: 1 tsp Dijon mustard or 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes for a flavor boost

  • Optional: Chopped parsley for garnish


🔪 Instructions

1. Prepare the Chicken:

  • Mix Parmesan, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a shallow bowl.

  • Dredge each chicken cutlet in flour, then dip in the beaten egg, and finally coat in the Parmesan mixture. Press firmly to ensure the crust sticks.

2. Cook the Chicken:

  • Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

  • Cook the chicken for 4–5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temp 165°F / 74°C).

  • Remove from pan and keep warm.

3. Make the Garlic Sauce:

  • In the same pan, reduce heat to medium-low and add 1 tbsp butter.

  • Sauté garlic until fragrant (about 1 minute—don’t let it burn).

  • Add the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.

  • Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.

  • Season with salt and pepper, and optional mustard or red pepper flakes if using.

  • Simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.

4. Serve:

  • Pour the creamy garlic sauce over the crispy chicken.

  • Garnish with fresh parsley and more Parmesan if desired.


🍽 Serving Suggestions

  • Serve over mashed potatoes, pasta, or a bed of sautéed spinach or zucchini noodles.

  • Add a crisp salad or roasted vegetables on the side.
