Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Pan-Seared Tilapia:
Pan-Seared Tilapia
Ingredients:
- 4 tilapia fillets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lemon, sliced into rounds
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: lemon wedges for serving
Instructions:
- Prep the Tilapia:
- Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides of the fillets with salt and pepper.
- Heat the Pan:
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Cook the Tilapia:
- Once the oil is hot and shimmering, add the tilapia fillets to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the fish is golden brown and cooked through. The fish should flake easily with a fork.
- Add Butter and Garlic:
- Reduce the heat to medium. Push the tilapia fillets to the side of the skillet and add the butter and minced garlic. Sauté the garlic in the melted butter for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
- Combine Flavors:
- Carefully spoon the garlic butter over the tilapia fillets. Add the lemon slices to the skillet and cook for an additional minute, allowing the lemon to release its juices.
- Finish with Parsley:
- Sprinkle the chopped parsley over the tilapia fillets. Remove the skillet from the heat.
- Serve:
- Transfer the tilapia fillets to a serving plate. Serve with additional lemon wedges on the side if desired.
