Oven Baked Lamb Chops

Here’s a delicious and easy recipe for oven-baked lamb chops:

Ingredients

  • 8 lamb chops
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare the Marinade: In a small bowl, mix the minced garlic, rosemary, thyme, oregano, olive oil, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard (if using). Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  3. Marinate the Lamb Chops: Place the lamb chops in a baking dish or a large resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the lamb chops, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature, or up to 4 hours in the refrigerator for more flavor.
  4. Bake the Lamb Chops: Arrange the marinated lamb chops in a single layer on a baking sheet or in a baking dish. Pour any remaining marinade over the top.
  5. Cook the Lamb Chops: Place the baking sheet or dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, depending on the thickness of the chops and your preferred level of doneness. For medium-rare, aim for an internal temperature of 135°F (57°C). For medium, aim for 145°F (63°C).
  6. Rest and Serve: Once the lamb chops are done, remove them from the oven and let them rest for about 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in more tender and juicy chops.
  7. Serve: Serve the lamb chops with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.

Tips

  • Herbs: Feel free to substitute or add other herbs you enjoy, such as mint or parsley.
  • Marinade Time: The longer you marinate, the more flavorful the lamb chops will be.
  • Searing: For extra flavor, you can quickly sear the lamb chops in a hot skillet for 2-3 minutes on each side before baking.
