ONE BOWL CHOCOLATE CAKE

Posted on December 12, 2024

Here’s a simple and delicious One-Bowl Chocolate Cake recipe that you can easily make with minimal cleanup:

Ingredients:

  • 1 and 3/4 cups (220g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 and 1/2 cups (300g) granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup (65g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup (240ml) whole milk
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (240ml) boiling water

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans, or line them with parchment paper.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add wet ingredients: To the same bowl, add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Mix everything together using a whisk or electric mixer until smooth and well combined.
  4. Add boiling water: Gradually pour in the boiling water while mixing. The batter will be thin, but that’s what makes the cake moist!
  5. Bake: Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool: Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely before frosting.
  7. Frost and serve: Frost with your favorite frosting (chocolate, vanilla, or whipped cream) and enjoy!

This cake is rich, moist, and super easy to make all in one bowl!
