New York Cheesecake

New York Cheesecake is a classic and rich dessert that is known for its creamy texture and delicious flavor. Here’s a basic recipe for making a New York Cheesecake:

Ingredients:

For the crust:

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

For the filling:

  • 4 packages (32 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2/3 cup sour cream
  • 2/3 cup heavy cream

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar for the crust. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form an even crust.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth using an electric mixer.
  4. Add the sugar and vanilla extract to the cream cheese, and continue to beat until well combined.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  6. Mix in the sour cream and heavy cream until the batter is smooth and creamy.
  7. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the prepared crust in the springform pan.
  8. Tap the pan on the counter a few times to remove any air bubbles.
  9. Bake the cheesecake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is lightly browned.
  10. Allow the cheesecake to cool in the oven with the door ajar for about 1 hour.
  11. Refrigerate the cheesecake for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, before serving.
  12. Once chilled and set, remove the cheesecake from the springform pan and transfer it to a serving plate.
  13. Slice and serve the New York Cheesecake on its own or with your favorite fruit topping.
