MILK PANELS

Posted on July 9, 2024 by admin
Sure! “Milk Panels” are often thin, crispy cookies or wafers made primarily from milk, sugar, and flour. They can be a delightful treat, perfect for tea time or as a light snack. Here’s a simple recipe to make Milk Panels:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups (190 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Prepare the Batter:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix well until the sugar is dissolved.
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until a smooth batter forms.
  3. Bake the Cookies:
    • Drop tablespoonfuls of batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. The batter will spread, so leave enough room between each drop.
    • Use the back of a spoon or a spatula to spread the batter into thin circles or panels.
  4. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and crispy. The center should still be slightly soft.
  5. Cool:
    • Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  6. Serve:
    • Once completely cooled, your Milk Panels are ready to be enjoyed. They can be stored in an airtight container for several days.

Tips:

  • Flavor Variations: You can add a pinch of cinnamon or a few drops of almond extract for a different flavor profile.
  • Texture: For extra crispiness, you can bake them a bit longer, but keep an eye on them to avoid burning.
  • Presentation: Drizzle melted chocolate over the cooled cookies for a decorative touch.

Enjoy your homemade Milk Panels!
