Posted on May 21, 2024 by admin

Here’s a copycat recipe for Little Caesars Crazy Puffs that you can make at home. These puffs are a delicious, cheesy, garlicky snack that can be enjoyed by everyone.

Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F)
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt

For the Filling:

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil

For the Garlic Butter Topping:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

Making the Dough:

  1. Activate the Yeast:
    • In a large bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. Mixing the Dough:
    • Add the flour, olive oil, and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until the dough begins to come together.
  3. Kneading:
    • Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead for about 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  4. First Rise:
    • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Assembling the Crazy Puffs:

  1. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a medium bowl, combine the mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, and basil.
  2. Shaping the Dough:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and divide it into 24 equal pieces.
  3. Stuffing the Puffs:
    • Flatten each dough piece into a small circle, place a tablespoon of the cheese mixture in the center, and fold the edges over to seal. Pinch the seams to ensure the filling stays inside.
  4. Second Rise:
    • Place the stuffed dough balls seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover them with a damp cloth and let them rise for about 15-20 minutes.

Baking and Finishing:

  1. Baking:
    • Bake the puffs in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown.
  2. Garlic Butter Topping:
    • While the puffs are baking, prepare the garlic butter topping by combining the melted butter, garlic powder, dried parsley, and salt in a small bowl.
  3. Finishing Touch:
    • Once the puffs are out of the oven, brush them generously with the garlic butter topping while they are still hot.
  4. Serving:
    • Serve the Crazy Puffs warm. They can be enjoyed on their own or with marinara sauce for dipping.

Enjoy your homemade Little Caesars Crazy Puffs!
