Sure! Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for lettuce wrap burgers:

Ingredients

For the Burgers:

  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey, chicken, or plant-based meat)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)

For the Toppings:

  • Large lettuce leaves (such as iceberg, romaine, or butter lettuce)
  • Sliced tomato
  • Sliced red onion
  • Pickles
  • Cheese slices (optional)
  • Avocado slices (optional)
  • Cooked bacon (optional)

For the Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1 tsp pickle relish (optional)

Instructions

Preparing the Burgers:

  1. Mix the Meat: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until just combined; avoid over-mixing to keep the burgers tender.
  2. Shape the Patties: Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.
  3. Cook the Burgers:
    • Grill: Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
    • Stovetop: Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  4. Cheese: If you’re using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to let it melt.

Preparing the Sauce:

  1. Mix the Sauce: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and pickle relish (if using). Stir until well combined.

Assembling the Lettuce Wrap Burgers:

  1. Lettuce Wraps: Take a large lettuce leaf and lay it flat. You may want to use two overlapping leaves for extra support.
  2. Build the Burger:
    • Place a cooked burger patty on the lettuce leaf.
    • Add your desired toppings: sliced tomato, red onion, pickles, avocado, bacon, etc.
    • Drizzle with the prepared sauce.
  3. Wrap and Serve: Fold the lettuce leaf around the burger and toppings to form a wrap. Serve immediately.

Enjoy your healthy and delicious lettuce wrap burgers!
