Here’s a simple and effective lemon powder recipe you can make at home using lemon peels:
🍋 Homemade Lemon Powder Recipe
Ingredients:
-
Organic lemons (as many as you’d like)
Note: Organic lemons are recommended to avoid pesticide residues since you’ll be using the peel.
Instructions:
1. Wash and Dry:
-
Thoroughly wash the lemons with warm water and a scrub brush to remove any dirt or wax.
-
Pat dry with a towel.
2. Peel the Lemons:
-
Use a vegetable peeler or paring knife to remove the outer yellow part of the peel only (avoid the white pith – it’s bitter).
3. Dry the Peels:
Option A: Air Drying
-
Spread the peels on a tray in a single layer.
-
Place in a warm, dry, well-ventilated area out of direct sunlight.
-
Let dry for 3–5 days until completely crisp.
Option B: Oven Drying
-
Preheat oven to the lowest temperature (around 150°F or 65°C).
-
Line a baking tray with parchment paper and spread peels out.
-
Dry in the oven for 2–3 hours, turning occasionally, until brittle.
Option C: Dehydrator
-
Spread peels on dehydrator trays.
-
Dehydrate at 95–115°F (35–46°C) for 6–10 hours or until completely dry.
4. Grind into Powder:
-
Once peels are fully dry and crispy, grind them into a fine powder using:
-
A spice grinder

High-powered blender
-
5. Store:
