Here’s a simple recipe for Hamburger and Potato Casserole:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 cups potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (10.75 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional toppings: chopped green onions, diced tomatoes, sour cream

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup and milk until well combined.
  4. In a lightly greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by half of the sliced onions, and half of the cooked ground beef. Season each layer with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Pour half of the soup mixture evenly over the layers in the baking dish.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, onions, ground beef, and soup mixture.
  7. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 60-75 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
  8. Remove the foil, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the casserole, and return it to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
  10. Serve hot, optionally topped with chopped green onions, diced tomatoes, or sour cream.

Enjoy your hearty Hamburger and Potato Casserole!
