Ham & Cheese Puff Pastry

Here’s a simple and delicious Ham & Cheese Puff Pastry recipe!

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 4 slices of cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or your choice)
  • 1 egg (beaten for egg wash)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Puff Pastry: Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to smooth it out. If it’s already rolled out, just make sure it’s even. Cut the sheet into 4 squares or rectangles.
  3. Add Filling:
    • Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard (optional) on each pastry square.
    • Place a slice of ham on each square, followed by a slice of cheese.
    • Season with a bit of salt and pepper.
  4. Fold the Pastry: Fold each square in half diagonally, forming a triangle. Press the edges together to seal them. Use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative touch and better sealing.
  5. Egg Wash: Brush the top of each pastry with the beaten egg to give it a golden, shiny finish. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
  6. Bake: Place the puff pastry triangles onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until they are puffed up and golden brown.
  7. Serve: Let the pastries cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!

Feel free to serve these with a simple side salad or some dipping sauce for an extra kick!
