Here’s a simple recipe for garlic shrimp pasta:
Ingredients:
- 8 oz (225g) pasta of your choice (spaghetti, linguine, fettuccine, etc.)
- 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/4 cup (60ml) chicken or vegetable broth
- 1/4 cup (60ml) dry white wine (optional)
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)
Instructions:
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, but not browned.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque.
- Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth and white wine (if using), and let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes until the liquid reduces slightly and the shrimp are fully cooked.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the shrimp and toss everything together until the pasta is well coated with the garlic-infused sauce.
- Remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle chopped parsley over the pasta. Give it a final toss.
- Serve the garlic shrimp pasta hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
