Garlic Parmesan Fried Lamb Chops

Posted on January 19, 2025June 23, 2025 by admin

Garlic Parmesan Fried Lamb Chops are a flavorful and indulgent dish featuring succulent lamb chops coated in a fragrant garlic and Parmesan crust, then fried to crispy perfection. Here’s a simple recipe for you to try:

Ingredients:

  • 8 lamb chops (about 1-inch thick)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crispiness)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil or vegetable oil, for frying
  • Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the lamb chops:
    • Pat the lamb chops dry with a paper towel. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Set up the dredging station:
    • In one shallow bowl, place the all-purpose flour.
    • In a second shallow bowl, whisk the eggs.
    • In a third shallow bowl, combine the grated Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, oregano, and chopped parsley.
  3. Coat the lamb chops:
    • Dredge each lamb chop in the flour, ensuring it’s fully coated. Dip it into the egg mixture, then coat it evenly in the Parmesan breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Fry the lamb chops:
    • Heat about 1/4 inch of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot (you can test by dropping a small piece of breadcrumb in – it should sizzle), carefully place the lamb chops in the pan.
    • Fry the chops for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Depending on the thickness of the chops, you may need to adjust the cooking time. The internal temperature of the lamb should reach 145°F for medium-rare or 160°F for medium.
  5. Serve:
    • Remove the lamb chops from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for a bit of brightness.

Tips:

  • If you prefer a more intense garlic flavor, you can add a bit of garlic powder to the breadcrumb mixture.
  • For extra crispy lamb chops, double coat them: After the first coating, dip them back into the egg and breadcrumb mixture once more before frying.
  • You can also finish the lamb chops in a 375°F oven for a few minutes if they need extra cooking time after frying.

Enjoy your crispy, flavorful Garlic Parmesan Fried Lamb Chops!
