Sure, here’s a simple recipe for a delicious Garlic Butter Steak and Potatoes Skillet:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1.5 pounds (680g) baby potatoes, halved
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (or fresh thyme leaves)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Parboil Potatoes: Place the halved baby potatoes in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Parboil for about 8-10 minutes, just until they are slightly tender. Drain and set aside.
  3. Season Steak: Season the steak pieces with salt, black pepper, and paprika (if using). Set aside.
  4. Sear Steak: In an oven-safe skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned steak pieces and sear on all sides until browned. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  5. Cook Potatoes: In the same skillet, add another 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the parboiled potatoes, minced garlic, and dried thyme. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are golden brown.
  6. Combine and Bake: Return the seared steak to the skillet with the potatoes. Mix everything together. Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes or until the steak is cooked to your liking and the potatoes are tender.
  7. Garlic Butter Finish: In the last 5 minutes of baking, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter to the skillet. Allow it to melt, and then baste the steak and potatoes with the garlic butter.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from the oven, garnish with fresh chopped parsley, and serve hot.
