Garlic Butter Seafood Boil Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Boil:

  • 1 lb. shrimp, deveined and shells on
  • 1 lb. crab legs
  • 1 lb. clams
  • 1 lb. mussels
  • 1 lb. baby potatoes, halved
  • 2-3 ears of corn, cut into thirds
  • 1 smoked sausage, sliced
  • 2 lemons, halved
  • 1 large onion, quartered
  • 8 cups water
  • 1/4 cup Old Bay seasoning
  • 5 cloves garlic, smashed
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

For the Garlic Butter Sauce:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Seafood Boil:
    1. In a large stockpot, bring 8 cups of water to a boil.
    2. Add the Old Bay seasoning, smashed garlic cloves, onion quarters, and lemon halves to the boiling water.
    3. Add the potatoes and cook for about 10 minutes.
    4. Add the corn and smoked sausage slices, and cook for another 5 minutes.
    5. Add the crab legs, clams, and mussels, cooking until the clams and mussels open (about 5-7 minutes).
    6. Add the shrimp and cook until they turn pink and opaque (about 2-3 minutes).
  2. Prepare the Garlic Butter Sauce:
    1. While the seafood is boiling, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
    2. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
    3. Stir in the lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
    4. Remove from heat and add the chopped parsley.
  3. Combine and Serve:
    1. Drain the seafood and vegetables from the stockpot.
    2. Transfer them to a large serving platter or a lined table for a family-style feast.
    3. Pour the garlic butter sauce generously over the seafood and vegetables.
    4. Garnish with additional fresh parsley and lemon wedges.
    5. Serve immediately with crusty bread to soak up the extra sauce.
