Here’s an easy and delicious taco salad recipe that’s quick to make and packed with flavor!

Easy Taco Salad Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey for a leaner option)

  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade taco seasoning)

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 bag tortilla chips (about 8 oz, broken into pieces)

  • 4 cups romaine lettuce (chopped)

  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes (halved)

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or Mexican blend)

  • 1/2 cup red onion (finely chopped)

  • 1/2 cup black beans (rinsed and drained)

  • 1/2 cup corn (optional, you can use frozen or canned)

  • 1 avocado (sliced)

  • 1/2 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt)

  • 1/4 cup salsa (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Meat:

    • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef (or turkey) until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.

    • Add the taco seasoning and 1/2 cup of water. Stir well and cook according to the seasoning packet instructions (usually simmer for 5-10 minutes).

  2. Prepare the Salad Base:

    • While the meat is cooking, chop the lettuce and place it in a large bowl.

    • Add the chopped tomatoes, red onion, black beans, corn, and shredded cheese to the bowl.

  3. Assemble the Taco Salad:

    • Once the meat is done, let it cool for a few minutes, then add it to the salad mixture.

    • Toss everything together gently.

  4. Add Toppings:

    • Just before serving, add the broken tortilla chips, avocado slices, and a dollop of sour cream (or Greek yogurt). You can also drizzle salsa on top if desired.

  5. Serve:

    • Serve immediately while the chips are still crispy, and enjoy!

Optional Add-ins:

  • Jalapeños for a spicy kick

  • Olives for extra flavor

  • Lime wedges for a citrusy touch

This salad is super customizable, so feel free to add or swap ingredients to your liking!
