dutch baby bake

Sure, here’s a simple recipe for making a delicious Dutch baby pancake:

Ingredients:

  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
  • Fresh fruit, such as berries, for topping (optional)
  • Maple syrup, for serving (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Place a 10-inch cast iron skillet or ovenproof frying pan in the oven while it preheats.
  2. In a blender, combine the eggs, flour, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Blend until smooth and well combined, about 30 seconds.
  3. Once the oven is preheated, carefully remove the hot skillet. Add the butter to the skillet and swirl it around until melted and evenly distributed.
  4. Immediately pour the batter into the skillet. The butter will sizzle around the edges, which helps create a crispy crust.
  5. Place the skillet back in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the Dutch baby is puffed up and golden brown around the edges.
  6. Carefully remove the skillet from the oven (it will be very hot!). The Dutch baby will deflate slightly as it cools.
  7. Dust the Dutch baby with powdered sugar, if desired, and top with fresh fruit. Serve warm with maple syrup on the side.
