Dulce de Leche Cheesecake Bars

Posted on August 28, 2023

Dulce de Leche Cheesecake Bars combine the rich and creamy flavors of cheesecake with the indulgent sweetness of dulce de leche, a caramel-like sauce made from sweetened condensed milk. These bars offer a delightful blend of textures and flavors, making them a favorite dessert for many. Here’s a basic recipe to make Dulce de Leche Cheesecake Bars:

Ingredients:

Crust:

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Cheesecake Filling:

  • 16 oz (2 blocks) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup dulce de leche sauce, plus extra for drizzling

Dulce de Leche Topping:

  • 1/2 cup dulce de leche sauce

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease and line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
  2. In a bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter for the crust. Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated.
  3. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to create an even crust layer.
  4. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
  5. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Stir in the vanilla extract and 1/4 cup of dulce de leche sauce until well combined.
  7. Pour the cheesecake filling over the graham cracker crust and smooth the top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.
  9. Remove the baking pan from the oven and let the cheesecake bars cool to room temperature. Then, refrigerate them for several hours or until completely chilled and firm.
  10. Once the cheesecake bars are chilled, drizzle the remaining dulce de leche sauce over the top.
  11. Use the parchment paper overhang to lift the cheesecake out of the pan. Place it on a cutting board and slice it into bars.
  12. Serve the Dulce de Leche Cheesecake Bars chilled. You can optionally drizzle more dulce de leche sauce over each individual bar before serving.

These bars are a delightful combination of velvety cheesecake and the rich sweetness of dulce de leche. They make a great dessert for special occasions or whenever you’re craving a luxurious treat.
