Here’s a rich and moist Double Chocolate Coca-Cola Cake recipe that’s perfect for chocolate lovers. The Coca-Cola adds moisture and a subtle caramel undertone, while the double chocolate makes it extra indulgent.


🍫 Double Chocolate Coca-Cola Cake Recipe

Ingredients

For the Cake:

  • 1 cup Coca-Cola (not diet)

  • 1/2 cup buttermilk

  • 1 cup unsalted butter

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

For the Chocolate Coca-Cola Frosting:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter

  • 1/4 cup Coca-Cola

  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 3 1/2 to 4 cups powdered sugar (to desired consistency)

  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)


👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Preheat and Prep

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan or line with parchment.

2. Make the Cake Batter

  • In a saucepan, combine Coca-Cola, butter, oil, and cocoa powder. Bring to a gentle boil, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat.

  • In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, flour, baking soda, and salt.

  • Pour the hot cocoa mixture into the dry ingredients and stir just to combine.

  • Add buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.

  • Fold in the chocolate chips.

3. Bake

Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

4. Make the Frosting

  • While the cake is baking, make the frosting. In a saucepan, bring butter, cocoa, and Coca-Cola to a boil.

  • Remove from heat and gradually stir in powdered sugar until smooth.

  • Mix in nuts if using.

5. Frost the Cake

Pour the warm frosting over the warm cake as soon as it comes out of the oven. Spread evenly.
