crockpot lasagna recipe

Sure thing! Here’s a simple crockpot lasagna recipe perfect for a lazy day:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef (you can also use ground turkey or sausage)
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jar (24-26 ounces) marinara sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 12 lasagna noodles, uncooked
  • 1 container (15 ounces) ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic until the meat is browned and the onion is softened. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Stir in the marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Let the sauce simmer for about 5-10 minutes.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese.
  4. Spoon a thin layer of the meat sauce into the bottom of the crockpot.
  5. Break 3 lasagna noodles in half and arrange them over the sauce in the crockpot, making sure they cover the sauce evenly.
  6. Spoon half of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles and spread it out evenly.
  7. Repeat layers with half of the remaining meat sauce, followed by 3 more lasagna noodles broken in half, and the remaining ricotta cheese mixture.
  8. Finish with the remaining meat sauce and sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese on top.
  9. Cover and cook on low heat for 4-6 hours or until the noodles are tender and cooked through.
  10. Once cooked, let it sit for about 10-15 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
