CRISPY FRIED MUSHROOMS WITH COOL RANCH DIP

Posted on September 5, 2024 by admin

Crispy fried mushrooms with cool ranch dip sounds delicious! Here’s a simple recipe to make them:

Crispy Fried Mushrooms

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) mushrooms (button, cremini, or your favorite variety)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup cold sparkling water (you can also use regular cold water)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko breadcrumbs for extra crispiness)
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola oil works well)

Instructions:

  1. Prep the Mushrooms:
    • Clean the mushrooms with a damp paper towel. Remove the stems if they are large or tough. Pat them dry.
  2. Prepare the Batter:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
    • Slowly whisk in the cold sparkling water until you have a smooth, lump-free batter.
  3. Coat the Mushrooms:
    • Dip each mushroom into the batter, letting any excess drip off.
    • Roll the battered mushrooms in the breadcrumbs until fully coated.
  4. Fry the Mushrooms:
    • Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
    • Fry the mushrooms in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry them for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
    • Use a slotted spoon to remove the mushrooms and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Cool Ranch Dip

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped (or 1 tsp dried dill)
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Make the Dip:
    • In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, dill, chives, parsley, garlic, onion powder, garlic powder, and lemon juice. Mix well.
    • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
    • Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld together.

Serve the crispy fried mushrooms hot with the cool ranch dip on the side. Enjoy!
