Creamy Steak and Mushroom Soup

Certainly! Here’s a recipe for creamy steak and mushroom soup:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 8 oz (225g) mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups (1 liter) beef broth
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced steak to the pot and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the steak from the pot and set aside.
  3. In the same pot, add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Stir in the sliced mushrooms and cook until they release their juices and become tender, about 5-6 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms and onions, stirring constantly for 1-2 minutes to cook out the raw flour taste.
  6. Gradually pour in the beef broth while stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Bring the soup to a simmer and let it cook for 5-10 minutes until slightly thickened.
  7. Return the cooked steak to the pot and stir in the heavy cream. Let the soup simmer for another 5-10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Serve the creamy steak and mushroom soup hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
